New Orleans Cruise Schedule

Cruise parking at the Port of New Orleans

Each terminal has its own garage. On October 23, 2026 the port listed 7 days at $180 in both, plus $1 a day if you reserve online, and prepaid parking is not refundable.

Last checked 2026-10-23 · Rates and opening hours change, so confirm before you travel.

The port runs one garage for each cruise terminal, and they are not interchangeable. Carnival passengers park at Erato Street. Norwegian and Royal Caribbean passengers park at the 100 Poydras Garage and take a shuttle to the Julia Street terminal. If you aren't sure which line uses which terminal, the terminal guide has the table.

What it costs

These are the port's published prices on October 23, 2026. They are for the whole cruise, not per day. Reserving online adds a $1 a day convenience fee; driving up without a reservation doesn't.

The port charges by the number of days of the cruise. Its FAQ says to call for rates over seven days or for back-to-back cruises, even though the parking page prints the 8 and 14-day Erato prices. The number is 504-528-3318, the port's cruise manager.

Both garages take credit or debit cards only. If you prepay, the port says in capitals that there are no refunds, with no exceptions.

Erato Street garage, for Carnival

The garage is part of the Erato Street Cruise Terminal, at 1100 Port of New Orleans Place. It opens at 9 a.m. Central time and has more than 1,000 covered spaces. You drive in on top of the terminal, up a circular ramp you can see as you approach.

Height limits are 8 feet 4 inches on the third floor, where space is limited, and 7 feet 6 inches on the floors above. Vehicles can be up to 22 feet long. Show the attendant your boarding pass, and the QR code if you reserved. After you park, the elevator takes you to check-in, and porters on the garage's first floor take your bags to the ship.

100 Poydras Garage, for Norwegian and Royal Caribbean

The garage is at 100 Poydras Street, with its entrance on Poydras next to the Hilton's self-parking garage. It opens at 9 a.m. Central time and has more than 500 covered spaces. The port says a shuttle takes passengers and their luggage from the garage to the Julia Street terminal.

Check the height of your vehicle before you book. The port's page gives 6 feet 6 inches in one place and 6 feet 4 inches in another, and Norwegian's directions give 193 cm, which is about 6 feet 4 inches. Plan on 6 feet 4 inches. For anything taller, or longer than 22 feet, the port says to call Laz Parking on 504-296-1757.

Two cruise line pages disagree with the port. Norwegian quotes $25 a day for this garage. Royal Caribbean still sends drivers to a lot next to the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, but the port says the Hilton's "Whale Lot" is no longer used for cruise passengers. Go by the port's page, since it runs the garages.

Reservations

You don't have to reserve, but the port says space is limited and recommends it. Booking goes through Laz Parking, using the links on the port's parking page. On busy dates the port may open overflow parking, but only a reservation guarantees a space.

Disabled veterans, accessible parking and RVs

Since August 1, 2025, free port parking for up to seven days is limited to Louisiana disabled veterans. You need a 50% service-connected disability and a Louisiana license, and you have to be sailing on an ocean-going ship. Spaces are first come, first served, one per qualifying person, and the port asks you not to reserve online.

The port says it can't offer free parking for other disabled drivers. It doesn't publish where its accessible spaces are.

Oversized vehicles and RVs may fit depending on the date. The port asks you to email Laz Parking at SIAnderson@lazparking.com.

Viking Mississippi

The port has no parking for river cruise passengers and says to call Viking on 1-877-505-0210 for options.

A private garage that prints its prices

Private operators also sell cruise parking near the terminals. We list one here because it publishes its rates.

New Orleans Parking sells cruise parking at the Fulton Garage, 901 Convention Center Boulevard. On October 23, 2026 its site listed covered spaces at $17 a day and rooftop spaces at $14.50 a day, with a four-day minimum and a free shuttle to the cruise terminal. Clearance is 6 feet 7 inches, there are no in-and-out privileges, and you need a printed copy of your reservation receipt. Cancellations have to be made at least 48 hours ahead. A service fee, taxes and card fees can be added to the total, and the site doesn't say how much.

Before fees, seven days at those rates comes to $119 covered or $101.50 on the roof, against $180 at the port's garages. Check how the garage counts days and how often the shuttle runs before you choose it over a garage beside the terminal.
